Polyurea Coating

Our Polyurea Coating is a durable and environmentally friendly product for long term protection on treated wood products.

 

Adding our Polyurea Coating to telephone poles, pilings, posts, and other already treated products increases the lifespan of the wood and protects the environment.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

PALISADE is a clear single component roll-on, UV-stable, cross-linked Polyurea coating with a high gloss finish. PALISADE utilizes Polyaspartic, Urethane and Polyurea technologies to create a top coat that provides a durable, chemical impact and abrasion resistant surface for a variety of applications.

APPLICATION

PALISADE is applied by using a 3/16” low Nap adhesive type roller with solvent resistant core and can be applied using an airless sprayer and cup sprayer at low pressure.

USAS / FDA APPROVAL

Acceptable for use in floors subject to USDA / FDA inspections and regulations. USDA prohibits the use of any chemicals where existing food or food packaging can become contaminated.

SURFACE PREPARATION FOR STEEL

Surface, when viewed without magnification, shall be free of all visible oil, grease, dirt, mill scale, rust, paint, oxides, corrosion products and other foreign matter. Compatible with Zinc and Epoxy primers.

SURFACE PREPARATION FOR CONCRETE

Surfaces must be clean, sound, dry, and free of oils, grease and other bond inhibiting contamination. Failure to properly prepare the surface could result in the product delaminating from the surface. 

PRECAUTION

Moisture vapor emission in the concrete (MVE) to be less than 3-pounds per 1000 sqft. For 24-hour period. Calcium Chloride test ASTM F1869-98 recommended. Should not be applied in direct sunlight or on elevated surface temperatures. Clear coating may turn opaque or cloudy in exterior application due to moisture penetration.

CURING

At x°F (x°C) and 50% relative humidity allow to cure for 8-12 hour prior to permitting light foot traffic and 24-36 hours before permitting heavy traffic. Allow 24-48 hours of curing prior to permitting wheel traffic and parking on surface.
